I started working with stained glass following a half day workshop in 2012. I work in the “Tiffany” style using copper foil, but also the more traditional method using lead came. More recently, I’ve been combining the two methods to benefit from the sturdier surround that lead came provides whilst maintaining the intricacy that copper foiling gives.
I will often incorporate wispy glass into my work and utilise the unique patterns which are created during the glass manufacturing process to enhance the overall piece.
My work tends to be smaller pieces rather than the large stained-glass windows you’d see in churches and often focuses on animals or nature.
